Hello Demolition Families:
IKWF Regionals is complete and Demolition dominated throughout the day. We are so proud of the effort and sportsmanship that every wrestler demonstrated on Saturday. As a team, we placed 1st in scoring in the Intermediate division and out of the 24 wrestlers that could qualify for Sectionals next weekend, 92% of our wrestlers advanced. Keep on grinding this week.
After discussion with the coaching staff, we have decided to absorb our wrestlers into two separate sessions (Crew Leader and Foreman) and discontinue the Journeyman practice. If you have a Journeyman wrestler and are continuing to wrestle with us for the month of March, please plan to attend Crew Leader practices. Some of the Crew Leader wrestlers will be moved up to the Foreman group. Those wrestlers will be contacted by one of the coaches. The practice schedule for this week is as follows:
Monday: 5:00-6:30 - Crew Leader
6:30-8:30 - Foreman
Tuesday: 5:00-6:30 - Crew Leader
6:30-8:30 - Foreman
Wednesday: 5:30-7:30 Foreman
7:30-8:30 Strength and Conditioning
Thursday: 5:00-6:30 Crew Leader
6:30-8:00 Foreman
8:00-9:00 Strength and Conditioning
Friday: 4:30-5:30 Open mat to workout prior to weigh-ins for Sectionals
*We will potentially have a combined practice with other clubs at a local high school on Thursday. We will notify you of schedule changes as soon as we know.
The state gear that was ordered will be in this week. We will give exact time frames to pass the gear out as soon as we get an update on the delivery. At Thursday’s practice, we will be passing out the swag bags in celebration of all of our wrestlers that are battling in IKWF, Bantam, and/or Midget series.
Next Saturday, 3/5/22 will be the IKWF South Chicago Sectionals at Shepherd High School, 1309 S. Ridgeland Ave, Palos Heights, IL 60463. We will provide weigh-in times and locations as soon as we receive them. Every wrestler that qualified will be automatically registered. The cost for this tournament is $20. Please send it in this week.
Next Sunday, 3/6/22 is the Bantam Championships at Bolingbrook High School, 365 Raider Way
Bolingbrook, IL 6044. Weigh-ins will take place at the Force facility, 13731 South Rt. 30, Plainfield IL from 9-11am Saturday morning.
